Never trust the private sector for something that people have no choice over.
Anyone who seriously suggests privatization should be barred from working in government. They should be fully investigated for conflicts of interest, and if any are found nailed to the fucking wall. They’re thieves stealing from the public.
It always happens. After privatization prices go up and/or service levels go down.
That’s the only way for the new owner to “earn” their profits.
Privatization is a one-time win for the finances of the government of the day, and a long term burden on the people who use that service.
But some profiteer gets infrastructure for cheap that they can extract profit from.
We’ll at some point subsidize or bail out these private airports, I guarantee it.

The only time privatization leads to a decrease in prices is while they are squeezing out competitors. Then it inevitably goes up while quality drops. Privatization is always profit before people. It’s past time to kill that idea, and, if necessary, its proponents.
