No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What impact is the whole vegetarian/vegan diet having on the price of meat?
4·3 days agoAs time moves on and more people might choose a meatless diet, there will be adjustments in pricing with less meat productuon, but also offset by land price probably dropping, since cattle farming takes a lot of crops and space to convert approx 16g of veg protein to 1g of beef protein.
I think some BIOS have a disable option if I recall correctly, but is it actually disabled?

3·3 days agoThe article mentioned its a developer staffing thing. Transmission of messages is “free” but somebody has to develop code and counter exploits with patches. And run a server that helps clients find each other—i presume.

3·6 days agoI mean that could seem good if you spend enough to cover yearly fee, however there is no free money; that 2% they give you is from their profit of charging merchants a larger percent to use the credit system, and that merchant passes that cost onto you with higher prices. So say a 4% merchant increase and we’d get 2% back of overpaying.

2·6 days agoThat is unfortunate, there is so much data out there on cities that went with bike lanes and transit and how it had health benefits for everyone (not just the walkers and bikers)

2·6 days agoWestCoast is building more Skytrain infrastructure right now, and proposing new buslines. Dedicated bikelane proposals are also out for public review on best options. You just have to live in the parts of Canada that care about health and environment.

3·6 days agoWe’ve got new skytrain lines being built in metro Vancouver right now, as well as public surveys on new busline proposals, and road conversion to dedicated bike lanes.
Good luck in Ontario though where DF is actively trying to halt health and progress for its residents

6·6 days agoYeah, America acts like transit is not viable. Back in my mom’s era she was taking the city bus to school at 7 years old.
Just yesterday I was at an organized work event (at an events center), when it was done I walked across the street and got right on the bus, transfered at at a Norths-South East-West corner and dropped off a block from my house.
It’s actually more pleasant than driving because you don’t have to worry about idiot drivers, and I got to hear some locals exchanging recipe ideas, and where to buy the best avacados. 😀

6·6 days agoI dumped reward cards because they began to show no added value and many required an annual fee that erased the reward benefit. With TD points (as one example) as you reached a point level they’d remove those awards out of your options and show you awards outside of your bracket. I had to do some cookie trckery to get rewarded.
West jet dollars now became points so it’s not a dollar for dollar payback now.
