I love how they blame the dog and not the f*ckwad that left a loaded shotgun in the back seat with the safety off.
That’s a big assumption. Maybe it was a crossbolt safety stored in accessible way. Still dumb, definitely unsafe, bit maybe not quite the unsafety we imagine.
I’m not gonna say I’m a gun expert, but I don’t see why you need a loaded shotgun in the back of the car to begin with. Like isn’t only having your gun loaded when you’re ready to use it a pretty common gun safety thing? Even if the safety was on and the dog accidentally turned it off, or the safety was faulty, I feel like there was no reason for it to be loaded and somewhere in the back seat a dog could walk over it or however it happened.
Makes for a better headline 🤷♂️

If there were any discrimination in that sentence, it’s supposed to evoke more outrage than if a man died, not less. But more likely it’s just reporting what limited facts they have and are allowed to print.
