Ok so we agree “some random guy made an unsubstantiated tip to the fbi about a (then) former president” is not news or noteworthy.

So depressing to see this get this many upvotes on lemmy. I want to go back to that brief period where I mistakenly believed that the userbase of lemmy was a bit more intelligent and skeptical than reddit’s. Nope, still just voting on gut reactions to headlines on whether they fit confirmation bias or not.
‘sure it’s just an unsubstantiated fbi tip that doesn’t make any sense if you actually read it. but trump bad so it must be true’ A random guy making a salacious claim about a former president without any evidence isn’t news just because you want to believe it.
+bonus round ‘oh you’re skeptical of an unsubstantiated salacious claim somebody made about a former president? do you think trump good or something?’

‘try it, (nobody will do anything about it and nothing will happen to you)’ oh ok. Not normally how you would use that phrase confrontationally.

She had no intention of shooting, she said.
jesus christ I hope her lawyer approved this statement.

Oh so not even you, thats where someone else will draw the line.

I like the implication that everything else was acceptable but if he threatens a statue that’s when you’ll do something,

Oh yeah, that’s why a republican wins texas by 30% in a midterm. lol

Honestly I think this is great. Some tacky bloodsport arena is a refreshingly honest reflection of the true national character of this country.
Much more fitting than the weird civil religion stuff going on in the rest of the national mall. This country does not deserve dignity until it stops being a global force for evil.
Because obviously it’s impossible to take a photo with an underexposed foreground object and overexposed background.
Because the image is gold and a shade of blue that you can get from white if your white balance is bad enough.
You wouldn’t sweep an OR you would mop or squeegee. Kinda like the example I used was ‘sweeping a floor’ and not your straw example of ‘sanitizing a surgical theater.’
ok. maybe this will help.
Lets say there is a shortage of trauma surgeons and a shortage of theme park groundskeepers ride engineers. Is fixing one of these shortages more important?
Does that imply anything about the relative value of the labor being performed?
That is not what I said. That is another strawman.
You said EQUALLY important. I gave you examples of jobs that are not EQUALLY important.
That warehouse could contain medical supplies. They could contain parts to build trucks that will transport medical supplies. That warehouse could contain equipment to build the medical devices that the surgeon could use.
It didn’t it was mostly garbage fast fashion $5 shirts made to be worn once and thrown out.
. And to look down at anyone who does manual labour as less than someone who saves lives is extremely sad. You should be ashamed.
Fuck you quit projecting. I was using my own work as an example kiss my ass. YOU are the only one conflating the value of someone’s labor with their value as a human.
You’re just someone who deems worth based on what they do in completion, not that work and society all works together as a giant organism.
yeah and the heart is more important to the organism than the little toe. some parts of a system are more critical than others.
“ah but what if I change the example you used to a different example”
ok man have fun playing with your strawmen. Sweeping the floor of a warehouse is still not equally as important as life saving medical work. People who detail cars are not as important to society as paramedics.

Insolife is good. The cheaper ones on amazon are useless. I think modding a water flosser probably has potential as a budget option, some people freak out at the idea because it sounds super intense but if you ever spray one on your wrist they aren’t nearly as strong as it feels on your gums.
Your ability to completely de-humanize janitorial work says so much about you.
cool strawman bro. Saying sweeping up dust is less important than saving a life is not saying “and you’re a worm if you ever sweep a floor”. I’ve had to sweep the floor at almost every job I’ve had, it was never as important as someone’s life.
The downvotes lol. You have to play along with the anarchist fantasy of “actually people would do 24 hour storm response shifts in one of the deadliest professions purely for love of the game, they definitely don’t tolerate the danger and [uncontrollable weather related] working conditions because of the compensation”
I have the radical belief that if you sacrifice more for society you should receive more from society in return. idk maybe the people spending 24 hour shifts doing dangerous storm response calls hundreds of miles away from their families should get to go back to a nicer house than somebody who just stocks shelves 40 hours a week.
*oh gross theyre an anti-leftist lib. I take back the expression of sympathy.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how this relates to anything I said.
How does someone elses unrelated mental gymnastics justify the mental gymnastics of a shoot and cry pervert.
Sweeping the floor is not equal to doing a heart transplant, stop getting lost in platitudes and get a grip.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the fbi probably needs a higher standard of evidence than “trust me bro” to get a warrant on a freshly out of office former president. Good thing this guy claims to have incriminating recordings of trump and oh wait he conveniently can’t produce them, definitely not suspicious. I’m going to assume ‘I was in the sinaloa cartel but they let me leave because I was tight with Epstein’ guy isn’t throwing up even more nutjob red flags.
