Yea I don’t see that 10 point plan ever happening.

Wonder what Linux’s look like

Is there only one winner in this system?

That’s first past the post.
And that leads to strategic voting, and winner takes all.
Which concentrates way too much power

Ranked choice should solve this.
If you vote for 5 left wing parties, with the last one being one you know isn’t going to get eliminated, then your vote still goes to the left

Ok fair, I didn’t read all the details, and too lazy to go through all those links to understand them and pick my favourite.
Which ever one doesn’t lead to stratigic voting and concentration of power.

Ranked choice voting.
Along with eliminating anyone with less than ~2%

I hate when this happens, I eat 8 eggs every day and this without fail happens to one of them. No clue why, and often while they’re still hot when I’m peeling so my fingers start to burn

Yep I’m pretty stoked we’ll soon have Euro Office

Sounds like a decentralized encrypted messaging platform is needed.
And when you need the highest trust, you just need to make sure you and the people you are talking to are all on trusted servers.
so governments would use their own gov.eu server or something, and only communicate sensitive info to others on that network so the info never leaves that server

Anyone wana give the tl:dr?
Why?

Gatekeeping, nice.

Reddit already requires it in the UK, afik.
But it’s mostly speculation form my side.

I think we should just hide all of that complexity and just set defaults for everything that the user can decide to change if they want. You don’t have to understand how the Fediverse works to be able to use it. Most people don’t understand how email works, they just use it.
BlueSky has 40+ million users, and it’s also technically decentralized like the Fediverse.
aka. you can use the eurosky.social or bluesky.social server etc.

But if my backups actually work then I miss out on the joy of rebuilding everything from scratch and explaining to my wife why non of the lights in the house work anymore.
For that we need a LOT more users. It’s kind of a chicken and egg situation.
Hopefully we can capitalise on the next Rexit.
In the past lots of people moved over but left because of the terrible UX. I think PieFed has solved most of the UX issues.
As a South African this confused the shit out of me at first.
I thought it was the hateful political party the Economic Freedom Fighters, who chant things like “Kill the Boer” at their rallies
