The higher prices are directly from his tariffs and war and people should know that. Last time, however, prices were not Biden’s fault and economy had recovered better than most places, but the people wrongly blamed Dems as they were instructed to and ignored all the warnings. One relief check went out during his time and two from orange, if you want to try that nonsense. They won’t really care though or understand this, and mindlessly swing back and forth, other than the tribal ones that stick with maga regardless of the damage, and they’re proud to pay more and all the suffering too!

Last election he said if he wasn’t elected then we would be at war with Iran, gas prices would skyrocket, groceries would be unaffordable, and masked police would be patrolling the streets.

He literally projected exactly what he ended up doing, as is tradition.

Two political parties are supposed to work together for the benefit of everyone, the second a politician tries to divide the country they need to be jailed, or at the very least removed from politics. There is no place for this toxicity in a prosperous country.

    Trump warns…

“If Obama wins, the country will burn and be lost to communism” Obama serves two terms in a row, no burning and still waiting for “communism”

“If Biden wins, the country will burn and be lost to communism” Biden wins, still no burning (except Jan.6) or “communism”

“If Kamala wins the country will burn and be lost to communism” Trump wins and we watch him burn and loot the country in 4K HDR 360fps as fascism rolls in

One of my teachers in a humanities related field said she had a dream where people were running through the street and making tons of noise at like 2 am that woke her up, and they were just screaming “HE’S DEAD! HE’S DEAD!!”

So that’s how people in the humanities are doing, if anyone was curious.

I think every option other than Trump is better than him simply because the popular mandate can’t be had by a freak like Miller, it can’t be had by a rizzless baffoon like Vance, a stuffy devil in a suit like Vought, a sniveling gremlin pedophile like Lutnick, or a out and about Jewish Supremacist like Kushner. The only person I worry about being in charge is Tucker Carlson. Given how the world only ever seems to get worse, I think this would be the end result. Most of my predictions are true by imaging the worst possible scenario. The only upsides to him is that he’s made a lot of enemies, but I think he’s demonstrated his ability to lie his way into power and I don’t think that would be a saving grace for us at all, we’d probably be fucked, and he’s definitely smart enough and charismatic enough to achieve most of his white supremacist goals. The best case scenario is Trump having a stroke while complaining about Tucker being a traitor.

I suggest a horrible debilitating stroke that makes it impossible for him to move or talk while in unbelievable pain for every moment. He gets every treatment recommended by RFK which hopefully includes bleach. Ideally it will be nearly impossible to sleep, but enough so he is able to fully experience it. Hopefully the medical professionals will be able to keep him alive like this for years, ideally a decade and then finally someone will have the compassion to pull the plug so he finally starves to death.

I like to imagine Trump’s behavior has opened the door to sweeping changes across the board. I feel like administrations opted for smaller, less impactful in the near term changes, and Trump, to his very limited credit, made sweeping changes rapidly. So let’s see that in the other direction. He’s had SCOTUS support some of his orders, so let’s use them as examples for changes in the opposite direction.

Then let’s close all the loopholes.

Even in the ideal liberal world where Republicans show up and take advantage of loopholes, and then Democrats take power and patch them all, fundamentally this allows a ratcheting effect if Democrats only ever fix and never utilize the power themselves. I’d like to see a truth and reconciliation period similar to South Africa where we take a hard look at ourselves as a nation and address the bigotry that leads us to become such a pariah, both to each other and globally. We can then address the shared goals of bringing back American jobs from a standpoint of honesty at what took them in the first place, and many of the other things that supposedly fueled the collapse of our moral framework. Unfortunately I don’t see a world where any party leaders would engage in this behavior, because moving on is all their donors ever want to do. You don’t need to dig for long to find billionaires meddling, and their favorite time to meddle is in democratic primaries, something the leadership very much wants them to keep doing.

Someone asked, “Why do some British people not like Trump?” An articulate and witty writer wrote the following response: “A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace. So, the stark contrast does throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief. Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty, or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I do not say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it is a fact. He does not even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty. Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he does not just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and automatic nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance, or depth. It is all surface. Some might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we do not. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He is not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He is more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege. And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully and racist. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down. So, the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a few of us– of look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that: You do not need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man. This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty hard to miss. After all, it is impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumps of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created? If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.

Why is the part about Obama cut out?

“For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.”

      And this sentence you use:

"And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully and racist. "

Why did you add “and racist” to that? He never said that.

      And this:

“– perhaps a few of us–”

      should be “perhaps a third”

Then, after “given that” there should be two points, the first of which your completely left out. Plus, you also left this entire sentence out: “He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart.”

The piece was good enough without being altered, especially if you don’t tell people you’re editing it. Explain why you did this, please.

      Also, please add paragraphs. ;)

Source or if you want the -real- source, I think it’s somewhere on facebook or twitter, but I prefer not looking for those and I don’t have accounts for either of those anyway.

Edit, found the article that links to the twitter posts, if anyone wants to give them clicks.

Sorry. A sloppy posting. I had used the excellent comment as a framework for a scathing critique of our own British neoliberal Trump fan and notorious racist Nigel Farage. Yes, an act of plagiarism but the parallels where hard to resist! “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response: A few things spring to mind.
