3·2 days ago100%. It is always better to know. I think that’s what draws us all to this place.
At the same time, fuuuuuck man. 😔
I think capitalism is humanities terminal illness.
So much potential wasted.

111·2 days agoOh a simpler time. When nothing needed to update, billion/trillionaires didn’t exist, and no one was trying to steal every normal of your data to rip you off and con you politically. I miss riding bikes till the street lights came on.

1·5 days agoNice! I have a similar build! I recently discovered proxmox and now have my home assistant, Plex server, and a full arr stack up on it. I should look into automated backing up of photos 🤔. Turns out, hording all my old gaming PC hardware was the right call. With component prices these day it feels like a small fortune having extra hardware, drives, and ram laying around! (The wife finally agrees lol 🤣)

30·5 days agoI did not know what Lemmy was a couple weeks ago. Reddit pushed me out. I don’t want to be logged in or have an account with the way they harvest data. I got tired of weekly rotating ublock origin scripts and using incognito mode. You don’t want me if I’m not a willing data whore? Fine, I’m gone! I am now actively trying to NOT even look at reddit when a random Google search sends me there!

Meta is completely aware of the pr nightmare this would cause. They don’t care. Collecting data at literally any cost is their business. No cost is too high.
