This community is “Not The Onion@lemmy.world”. It is not really for serious shit. If you don’t recognize a comment saying “living her best life” about someone who is abusive towards kids as a non-serious comment, then sadly you need some sort of help getting the stick out of your butthole.

Also, no. Get the gist of a “Crazy news from all over the world” community. I’m not going to put a “THIS IS A JOKE” in front of my obvious jokes. Some people on the very edge of the spectrum might not get it, but that’s just a price I’m willing to pay.

Sure it’s NotTheOnion, but that doesn’t make the articles posted here any less serious. I’d say this community highlights the downright absurdity that is modern society, but that doesn’t mean the stories are lighthearted fun.
The only comments in here when I first came was people celebrating this woman abusing children.

Yours was the only one I had seen actually saying something about the story in question when I first came across this thread.
It made me feel kinda gross that that was the first place most peoples’ minds went to.
