I have told some of this story here before but I had some friends in high school. They started dating. At first their parents thought they were too young to date, and then the parents met each other. Blablabla The parents promised to wait until the kids graduated high school to get married because that would “make it weird” according to the mom. Like a month after graduation the kids eloped and then the parents stopped being so weird. Well, a little. Then half a year later the parents got married.
Both couples are still together, so good on them for figuring it out.
first i was thinking how cumbersome it becomes if one of the relationships goes down, but the more i think about it, the less it sounds like an actual problem. i guess if they are into regular family gatherings it might be troublesome.
Same happened to one of my friends but their parents married during the children’s engagement, kinda weird that she married her brother-in-law but they’re all still together 12 years later
