Once Pavlov was in a bar, enjoying a drink. After a while the telephone rings. Hearing this, Pavlov suddenly jumps out of this seat saying, “Oh my god! I forgot to feed the dog.”
My cat had the same reaction to the electric can opener before they had pop-tops.
Sadly, they’re gone now but I imagine every time I opened a pop-top can of anything, they’d come running into the kitchen.
I’ve done the same with my cats with a regular can opener and tuna juice. Whenever I make a tuna sandwich I’ll give them the juice, but now they come running regardless of what can I’m opening. It’s entertaining to let them smell a can of beans/whatever that isn’t tuna.
