I hope they can multi task. Accountability is one thing but they need to be pushing amazing policies for Republicans to and trump to oppose and never stop yelling about it.

If you read the article, it seems the relevant soon-to-be committee chairs understand that. They know the mission.

I know these electoral cycles can feel like groundhog day. But let yourself feel some hope for once. Even if it’s just for today.

Investigation targets could include ICE raids, Epstein and DOGE

Garcia, the top Democrat on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has outlined five priorities, including Trump family business dealings, the administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations. Rep. Jared Huffman of California, the ranking Democrat on the Natural Resources Committee, said he wants to dig into Trump’s White House ballroom and other construction projects, as well as the Trump family’s role in mineral deals.

With the House majority comes an infusion of congressional committee staff and resources, and the effort is expected to be sprawling, involving House committees with authority to conduct oversight on Cabinet officials and the agencies they lead.

you just want it to happen again in two years, openly, and not stop in the meantime? how many innocents should die on the altar of you feeling like a nice person? what’s the right number? keep in mind its mostly the most marginalized people in society, so nobody you give a single shit about.

[Edit: nice edit, troll. You thought I wouldn’t notice? Suddenly making it about “marginalized communities” in an attempt to make me appear callous and indifferent to their plight? Well guess what. Those marginalized communities whom you’re attempting to wave like a banner, they’re celebrating right now.]

Hey I don’t have much faith in Schumer or Jeffries to do what needs to be done, but there are some really good ranking members on some important committees who are already gearing up for the road ahead.

It’s all detailed in the article if you care to read it.

Hey, I understand the sentiment. I do. But we’re seeing, right now, the most decisive win the left has had in a very long time. It’s okay to be optimistic, just for a little while. Honestly, it’s getting very tiring having the first thing I see on almost all topics about this be something negative. Just be happy we got to where we are, and leave the negativity on hold for if it turns out to be warranted. It isn’t solving any problems now, and it’s just bad for everyone’s mental state.

Your mistake is on believing the Dems are The Left. They’re center right.

They’re also beholden to the same donors as the GOP, so the comment you’re replying to is far more grounded in reality than your optimism about the Dems actually doing anything at all except continuing the process of wealth transfer from the working class to the investor/donor class.

I’m old enough to remember that a windfall like this hasn’t happened before. At least not since FDR’s time.

You’re free to continue being bitter and cynical, but kindly keep that stink away from me. The grownups are busy celebrating.

Sure we are happy, but not naive. This buzz should wear off quick because there is a lot of hard work to fix things. It could take decades to undue what has already been done and then we have a lot of work from there.

Funny how you declare that “nothing changed” in the past tense as if it already happened, even though the new session of Congress hasn’t even begun yet.
