  • I graduated last year. I’ve sent out hundreds of applications and still nothing. Had a few interviews in the first few months but haven’t gotten anything since. I just do odd jobs while working on my own stuff like game dev. I feel like it’s gonna be at least a few years before the job market recovers. Once the AI bubble pops they’re going to be sorely missing a lot of talent. Don’t feel bad if you can’t find anything right now, there’s a lot of other people who can’t either.

  • I’ve experienced the other side of this. I know my mother had a hard time at first, and for a while she was mourning me, which was weird to experience, but eventually she realized I’m still the same person and I’m just being more myself.

My best advice is to listen to them. My mother was very convinced it was a phase for years and wouldn’t let me take hormones despite the very many times I tried to prove to her it’s not. Eventually she agreed and after my first appointment she told me she’d never seen me that happy since I was a little kid.

(Not every trans person wants to medically transition and that’s okay too. That’s why I say to listen to them. They know what they want and have probably put a lot of thought into it already.)

  • Every genre has genuine effortfully made games and also cash grabs. I feel like many monster catchers get subjected to undeservedly high levels of criticism because some people seem to think that Nintendo should get to own the entire genre. Pickmon imo is definitely a cash grab but there are many other monster catchers that aren’t.

  • Vibe code bros aren’t real programmers. They’re business people, not computer people. Even if they have a CS degree, they only got that because they think it’ll get them more money. They lack passion and they don’t care about understanding anything. They probably don’t even care about what they’re generating beyond its potential to be used in a grift.

I graduated college not that long ago and my CS classes had quite a few former business majors. They switched because they think it’ll be more lucrative for them but since they only care about money they didn’t bother to actually learn the material especially since they could just vibe code through everything.
