There are definitely also people (some of whom I know personally) who are neither stupid & self-centered nor depressed.

That explanation falls a bit short. While it surely explains a lot of people, it doesn’t apply to everybody. There are definitely also people (some of whom I know personally) who are neither stupid & self-centered nor depressed.
Then they aren’t paying attention which makes them either stupid or self-centered.
