I was gonna say pension fraud but the article mentioned that so maybe this count is accurate.
It seems like the article was just raising that point, not indicating that this country had fixed the problem. 88% women over 100 seems a little suspicious. In the US the ratio of men is almost double that, and somewhere in between US and Japan for the EU, which might be an innocent series of convergent factors, or it might be that there is a particularly invisible demographic being taken advantage of, and there are another 20,000-30,000 dead bodies being hidden for their pensions.
