Iirc, there were several books that she likely took inspiration from, ranging from things like a secret platform at kings cross, I don’t remember the name of that one, a wizard of earthsea is possibly an inspiration for her whole wizard boarding school schtick, though to be honest, I’d be genuinely surprised if JK read a lot of Le Guin and came away with her politics.
But no, it’s neither of those. This one came slightly after HP, but it’s very, very different. Posted the answer in upside down text in another reply, if you want to check, or you can keep guessing lol
This might have been The Secret of Platform 13, very fun book. She probably got the Dursleys from there too, and maybe Dumbledore and Hagrid. Its Wikipedia page has a section about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_Platform_13

A young boy with a bad home life gets sent to live in a school for magical kids, with moving photographs, and has to solve a mystery.
And no, it’s not harry potter
Where the wild things are, for the OP? I don’t know about yours.
Mine: a foot fetishist gets married.
Oh, that makes sense. I’ve never read that one.
Got yours! For some reasons, spoilers don’t work when I post them, so gonna use the handy upside down text generator lol
