Some people during WWII thought hitler should die. Telling them “Hitler thinks the same thing about you, so therefore you’re the same/just as bad as hitler” is a non-starter.
That isn’t what I said…
Your whole argument seems to fail to account for the paradox of intolerance. You’re suggesting we should tolerate the intolerant if we want to be better than them. Such is not the case. It’s called appeasement, and allows intolerance to gain a foothold.
That’s also not what I said… The real problem here is your poor reading comprehension.
If this is about my reading comprehension, then explain what you meant by this and this:
The mechanisms of the brain that reach conclusions are the same. The reaction to influence and how that manifests in behavior. The idea that the “other” is flawed in their beliefs while the “self” is the correct belief.
The “other” wants me to be raped to death in men’s prison, and are currently changing the legal system to make that happen.
I just want them to stop trying to torture and kill me.
I’m pretty sure anti-fascists are correct while fascists are flawed. You can disagree with me, but that will tell me everything I know about you. If you think that makes me the same as a fascist, well you have a very convoluted mind
I give up. You are fundamentally unable to understand what’s being said versus what you want to be said.
Do you wrestle with knowing that your political and moral leanings are not only influenced by their counterparts, but also with not knowing if those beliefs are even truly choices you make? You have more in common with those you hate than you’ll admit. Everyone’s a good person in a world full of bad people. And the people you oppose think the same for you. The fact that you can’t understand that just keeps proving my point.
