According to United States law, any children born in United States territory is considered an US citizen and regardless of the claim being legitimate or not according to the US it is their territory, therefore any child born there would be considered US citizen, basically allowing in free immigration from Iran.

Republicans already seem intent on nullifying birthright citizenship, not that it would stop them from simply ignoring laws they don’t like anyway…

There is a far greater senility problem, than anyone could ever accuse Biden of having. The problem is greater because he has no handlers around him to filter the stupid.

Trump also announced a few weeks ago that the US would collect 20% tarrifs/tolls on all shipments in the SoH. He had to walk back the stupid 2 days later. The only path towards the stupidity becoming reality is if Iran or Oman becomes a US territory, although planting a US flag on a small rock near the SoH, and setting a precedent of whoever controls that rock has territorial control over the SoH (pure stupid), would legitimize Iran’s full claim, after they kill all US troops on the rock.

This would justify immediate impeachment, or to at least force another cognitive test at congress’s request for review by congress.

Somebody tell this 🤡 (and Putin too) that annexations can happen after a war, not during. If you try to do reichskommissariats before the end of the war, you’re in shitty company and people will take you less seriously.

I think the difference is that Hawaii was annexed in the 1890s not the 2020s things change over time.

        Yes.

There is significant difference between the US’ annexation of Hawaii and the fiascos of Russia annexing and then losing e.g. Kherson, or Trump claiming sovereignty over a piece of land he probably couldn’t even control for a day, let alone keep indefinitely.

Edit: sry for the overly sarcastic tone before.

I think at this point he is just jealous that he doesn’t have a 10 year war like Vietnam to his name and this is why he is a acting like a spoiled little child regarding this.

It’s still possible that Trump has gotten his wires crossed and thinks it’s an American thing. All it takes is one of his Russian handlers to mention that that’s how it works in Russian and for him assume it’s the same in the US. His brain isn’t great with nuance after all. It’s not like he understands the hows or whys of preexisting policies anyway.

And lets be fair, its how russia says it works. Its a big scary policy that after Ukraine attacked (with operators, drones and missiles) pre 2014 russian territory has become clear bullshit since no nukes are a flyin’.

So not only is it not an american thing (they have always just said they will nuke whatever the fuck they want when they want, to some extent) it is trumps favorite sort of policy, one that is just bluster and hot air.
