Yeah, I watched it every week from the start for a good few years, but after a while of the first Trump term I just couldn’t deal with it.

I couldn’t shake the awful feeling that all of the left leaning shows I was watching were essentially profiting from all of the fuckery while functionally doing nothing to actually help. I was in a media bubble that didn’t reflect the world as it actually was.

So I did what any rational person would: I just stopped being aware of the news. Because I had the privilege to be able to do that.

I have dipped back in to LWT over the past year or so, but not every week, and only when my headspace can tolerate it.

I was a weekly listener to Pod Save America and many of the various spin offs, but the same thing happened with that. I couldn’t listen in every week, hearing the adverts they were getting paid to read, knowing that while they would love to see Trump out of power, they’re doing quite well with him there, and they’re not the targets of the worst of the fascism.

I know that’s an unfair assessment, but it’s still not untrue.
