Have you ever mixed up episode titles to a degree that the stories would be humorous if the titles were swapped? For a long time I confused “What Are Little Girls Made Of?” and “Miri”. Imagine if there was an episode about kids turning into robots or a a virus that made robots act like kids.
I was working on a Shakespeare play one time and I started keeping notes on lines that sounded like episode titles. These are all from the same play:
The Feverous Earth
The Parallel Fellow
The Volume of Time
The Borrower of the Night
A Fruitless Crown
That Which We Destroy
The Tender Eye
The Timely Inn
The Season of All Natures
The Power of Man
His Earth-Bound Root
To Appease an Angry God
In the Tyrant’s Grasp
Blunt Not the Heart
The Seeds of Time
The Golden Round
Honor Unaccompanied
The Serpent and the Flower
Full disclosure: I was thinking of these as Doctor Who titles, but I think the principle is sound.
We can make these episode titles a reality: https://trek.epicrandomness.com/
It’s not exactly what you’re describing, but I have an absolutely miserable time with the generic, one-word titles that seemed so prevalent in the '90s in particular.
“Vortex”
“Whispers”
“Emanations”
“Resolutions”
“Anomaly”
And on and on and on…
Nope. My brain doesn’t work that way. I couldn’t name a one.
