The fact that this is mildly interesting, is a testament to the quality we are used to from cheap mass production.

Why should anybody care about this sort of minor defect? You’d rather they increase their waste just so you can get a “perfect” glass? Grocery stores do that with produce, throwing out tons of fine fruits and vegetables per years that picky customers won’t touch. And that’s only the stuff that gets sent to the store.

There’s holding companies accountable, and then there’s whatever you’re trying to do. Don’t let companies fleece you, but don’t be so prudish that something like this enrages you.

Downvote for “enrage”. That comment is making a sensible remark and does not carry the slightest note of rage or such sentiments.

Not a problem, just my two cents as a dog on the internet. Have fun 👋

You think that’s what an “enraged” comment looks like?

No one said it’s a major problem, just that we’re used to such good quality even from cheap mass mfg that something like this is unusual.

I’m afraid to tell them about the 7-Up bottle I got one time that had the white and red ink misaligned so it looked like double-vision.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I see the comment the other way - that we’re so accustomed to crap product that we’re only mildly infuriated at defects like this.

And what exactly is it that makes you see it like that? You are hallucinating. Why would I expect “perfect glasses” from “cheap mass production” as you claim?

Yup, I must be insane to interpret something in a way you don’t. 🙄 Have we really gone from treating chatbots like people to treating people like chatbots?

You are reading something into the text that is in no way indicated. That’s hallucinating.

What you’re describing is called “being wrong”. Hallucinations are a mental condition.

What? That would probably be my favorite glass if I got one like that. Being different makes it charming, and I don’t see it would have any bad influence on functionality.

Ech - and I’m only saying this because I care - there are a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market today that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Before I noticed the woodgrain I thought this was a frame from Starship Troopers where the ship feels the approaching gravity of the bug meteorite. And as a side note I would call that “meteorite” an asteroid, considering what it did to Brazil.
