Holy… Are you me? Haha
Solo IT, very outdated, uh, everything. Spent the last few years updating, upgrading, modernizing, etc. We’ve come a long way! I can conformably take a vacation without sweating out having my stuff at arm’s length.
Message me if you want to share more, bc my list is far too long.

3·1 day agoMaybe as a network scanner, because I know for “high accuracy” Android, for example, scans GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth in combination to help determine better accuracy of location. If it picks up a store WiFi it’s going to know you’re within 100ft. Or some car has a built-in hotspot that either found. Not 100%sure without looking into it further, just speculation.

News@lemmy.world•Chevron CEO warns Trump’s oil crisis could get even worse
1·1 day agoOh, gotcha. Well OK that makes a little more sense. I figure either way, the price of crude was still around $100/barrel (I think now it’s over) and gas hadn’t gone so high before, so regardless I was just basing it around prices.

News@lemmy.world•Chevron CEO warns Trump’s oil crisis could get even worse
34·1 day agoThe gas prices are bullshit and nothing more than a ripoff. In 2001 with the “war” in Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan, it didn’t get this bad. Same with 2008 market crash and 2022 with Covid. Check the charts-especially Monthly Avg Domestic Crude

72·1 day agoWell, it’s also kind of shitty teacher pay is based on taxpayer contribution! I get it, publicly funded locally vs federally for ICE, also idk how bad ICE pay was before Trump.
Seriously*?! Thank you. This sounds odd but I’ve been looking for something to work where I work. I know nothing, except all the big name vendors are thousands of dollars for “industrial grade” cheap looking sensors. It’s been a harsh several meetings with these vendors trying to sell me $4-6k for little shit.
Edit: anyone have ideas for room pressure differential? Like a magnahelic , but digital of sorts?

I’ve been deGoogling things at home already, and. DeMicrosofting as much as one can at home and work too. I’ve been relying heavily on Non-US tech a lot lately and got to alleviate some additional issues, by migrating away.
It’s really worrisome to think about the worsened mass surveillance than what it already is.
