I have seen GWAR: crucify the pope, disembowel George Bush, split Paris Hilton in half, rip babies out of protestors, shove a giant cross up a priest’s ass, chop off a skinhead’s head and throw it into a living toilet and stuff Henry Rollins into a giant meat grinder. Powerful fun. GWAR shows were the best. It’s cartoon violence. Even at it’s most patently offensive, it’s hilarious.

I have a Pi5 8gb running a version of LineageOS that is pretty much a blank slate to roll-yer-own Android TV, at which point you can install Stremio and be off to the races. Requires a little bit of Nerd-Level setup, but wasn’t too bad. Pi4 ran a little hot, but the Pi5 crushed it. Any ole BT remote works. I started with a Firestick remote and upgraded to a 10€ remote later. Have to control my soundbar separately, but whatever. I’m freeeee to sail the seas!

What’s crazy is that we even need to have this dicsussion about software to look at fkn web pages. Which of these fucks me over the least? Marketing ruins everything it encounters. Marketing to me on the web sites I view just isn’t enough… we’re stuck wondering which of these is going to harm my privacy the least. Feels like we’ve gone beyond the pale here.

My bank has a separate Push-Tan app that you use as 2fa for sending money for payments (i’m in the EU). While I’m sure there’s some workaround for the luddites and geezers (or us privacy respectin folk), I haven’t gotten that far yet. But I’ll report back when I do!

I bought a CMF1 phone and flashed /e/os on it. Mostly just to run it through the ringer and see how well it works and if it really can be a daily driver. So far, so good. Phone was on sale for 125€ during the last Black Friday. Surprisingly good phone for that price. Been using it with the various privacy focused messengers for voice calls. Haven’t stuck a SIM card into it yet. Eventually I’ll try my banking apps, which might be the sticking point as I’m not sure I can get those outside the Google App Store.

Work in progress, I guess. But no problems so far.

I’ll gladly accept a PlayStation without social features. I just want to play games. I am 100 years old. I own a mansion and a yacht.
