Installing a browser extension for one site? From usability point of view, how is that any different than installing an app for each service/company?

I wouldn’t, but obviously there seems to be many people who install an app for everything.

Are you sure they don’t already have more rigorous controls? I took my driving exam in a small town middle of the nowhere and can now legally drive anywhere, even major cities with traffic.

I would never trust a self driving car which passed ONLY that exam.

The best method is the one you can stick to.

What works great for me, is boring to another one. Even if I have the most optimal way of learning, if you abandon that, you won’t learn anything.

That said, the availability of podcasts, videos, online courses, AI for checking your output, asking follow-up questions, and having real time conversations, are all tools we could have only dreamed of even 10 years ago. Even if people here dismiss the use of AI, it will get you up to CEFR B2/C1 level easily.

Same here. Couldn’t imagine typing math formulas without the pen on screen. And math was part of close to all the courses in one form or another.

Not me, but I work with people who do (or could do) that.

To cut it short, in my field, software development, there are a lot of consultant companies which enlist regular SW engineers and basically rent them to other companies looking for (mostly) temporary help in their projects.

These consultant companies have lots of connections and I would imagine would be more likely to find you remote only gigs than through regular job channels. At least my company requires some weekly office presence for the permanent employees, but basically has no enforced requirements for the temporary consultants.

I guess it depends also, do you already have a skillset, or are you going to choose a trade based on the remote work opportunities?

At least in Finland the ex-politicians usually become lobbyists, public speakers and leaders in private organizations.

Back then OpenAI also heavily used/developed/showcased the AI technology for DOTA 2 (Valve’s game) bots, at level which was spectacular at the time. It makes only sense that the front face of a company shows interest in the (non-profit at the time) product of their partner organisation.
