As far as I know, Hitler did not do his crimes because he tried to stay out of prison. Bibi is much more desparate that Adolf.
You are not wrong though.

Not sure about Syria, but my armchair general knowledge tells me that the Turks will definitely fight back. Hard.
Here’s a few words of self-proclaimed wisdom: use soap or cream with a decent brush. Avoid the foam or the gel. Soap does not have to be expensive. If you live in or near Germany, buy the Palmolive stuff. It’s dirt cheap and works well.
Your choice of blade is personal. I personally love the Feathers or green Astras and avoid Personna or Lord like the plague. Some Gillette blades are quite decent too (I like the ones you buy in France). Some shaving shops offfer starter sets with multiple brands.
When you shave, do at least two passes: one with the grain and one across the grain. Some people do against the grain as well, but others prefer not to due to ingrown hairs.
Finally, there is a nice wet shaving community with its own lemmy instance. It is a nice community.
Friends was a gratingly unfunny ode to shallowness and self-centeredness. The same would apply to Seinfeld, only less grating.

I would like to see more niche communities here. That’s tthe only reason I still visit reddit. I do not know whether more reddit users will find their way here, but I sure do hope that their niche communities will migrate with them.

Good on you! I recently sold my bike for scrap, as getting it in a more or less safe condition would have cost several times its market value. Good to see you restoring your bike to its former glory.

Adding to the already excellent answers: there is such a thing as WebFAI: https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/en/TUXEDO-WebFAI.tuxedo . In short, it is a web-based tool to pick and install your distro of choice.
I do not think that it will be helpful for OP, as MX is apparently not being offered. You may need a Tuxedo laptop for it as well. Hopefully other readersl will have a TIL moment though.
I’m from the EU, but I love making shepherd’s pie. It’s pretty easy and when done correctly, it is an absolutely fantastic dish.

I am almost 50, so not quite retired yet. I like slow casual games. Puzzle games, survival games and CRPGs scratch my gaming itch.
A left the family home at 18 and it felt like the start of a new life. I grew up in a warm nest, but I have never regretted leaving my parents’ home.
Massive Attack have their hearts in the right place. Their recent collaboration with Tom Waits is excellent.
I am not a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen, but I admire him being the voice of the blue collar worker. I also loved Streets of Minneapolis (however sad the reason)
Hangyouth is one of the more politically laden bands in our country. One of their biggest hits is ‘You do not hate mondays, you hate capitalism’.
PS: I love this thread.
Repairability has been mentioned already, but how about being free from having billionaires decide for you what you can and cannot install on your laptop?

Yes, but sadly, the time that they actually made solid stuff is many decades ago. Also, as far as they still ‘exist’, their products are NOT made in the Netherlands anymore.

I’m with OP.
When me and my wife got married, we invited 20-ish people. Small service, lunch for everyone, and every guest looked happy. It was a good day and looking back, I would not have done it differently.
One year earlier, we went to a wedding of a friend with ~200 people. Nice woman, but a total show-off. The wedding reception was horrible. They had a dress code, the service was spread among three locations, there were apparently massive costs, and many awkward, unhappy looking people. That marriage apparently did not last either.

Software developer. I love creating stuff and solving puzzles. I hate having to deal with customers and their sometimes schizophrenic specifications (by lack of a better term). I built software that made me feel about as useless as the poor sap who does the quality check on the blinkers in the Audi factory.
I am getting too old for this shit.
JMS (or his casting director) really did make some excellent casting choices, didn’t he?
Joe Morden in Babylon 5. I do not know much about the actor, but he was cast perfectly.
Babylon 5, with Firefly as a close second.
Maybe it’s just bias and the bad shows are simply not remembered anymore?
Then again, many popular shows of old are just plainly unfunny.
