I miss when people made web browsers without appeasing advertisers. Remember when mozilla introduced the popup blocker and netscape actually incorporated that into their mainstream product? You never see stuff like that anymore because advertisers control everything on the internet now.
If a single company has this level of control over our devices we’ve already lost.
Can you imagine a company like dell decided tomorrow to only allow installation from their specific vendor locked market? People would just not buy those products, you wouldn’t be demanding dell let you install linux, you just buy something else.
Even if i had to use a pc that’s 10+ years old, id choose that over using a new pc that can only run vendor approved software. I cant imagine anything a new devive like a phone might have that would change my mind about it.
They are fairly diffent origins, viltrum is a conquering empire sending agents to other planets to conquer them, superman is the last son on a world that no longer exists and whos powers are stronger because of earths smaller yellow sun. Homelander was created by humans in a lab for marketing and profiting off of. On top of that it probabl also counts as parody.
There are a lot of superheros with similar powers or similar origins, but i dont know of any that are similar enough to win a lawsuit.
One that comes to mind is when DC sued over the similarity of captain marvel to superman But it was settled out of court and im not aware of any more recent ones.
