Do the subsidies flow to health insurance companies providing the plans on the marketplace? In other words, does UnitedHealthcare bill Obamacare for each customer receiving a subsidy? And they suspect UH is signing up fake people? Sounds like the insurance company executives need to go to jail instead of just terminating consumer plans.

It’s not a bad strategy given the limited power they will have. So far, the only checks on Trump’s power grabs have been the courts, and the GOP led House has been completely compliant with Trump’s wishes. The administration has lost hundreds of lawsuits so far, and the DoJ is increasingly seen as a vassel agency bending to Donald’s whims.

Impeachment and removal would only move JD Vance into the top spot. That’s probably worse. Lawsuits and investigations, with the goal of stopping the Trump administration in it’s tracks, recovering stolen funds, and restoring the power of Congress to it’s traditional level is a good interim step. Then after the GOP loses the Executive Branch, the real work of ferreting out the criminals and identifying those responsible for war crimes, can begin.

I find it odd that a new policy is given preference even if a restraining order wins, and the courts suspend any restraining orders pending the appeals. The new policy should be blocked pending appeal instead, if the policy changes a long held status quo.

The danger is that with only two candidates, the GOP could get the first and second highest votes on the primary, making a GOP governor a certainly (the November ballot would only have GOP candidates on it). I’m glad someone pulled ahead.
