  • Back in the 19th century—before the working class was split into the factions of socialism, communism and anarchism—these words and their movements were often used interchangeably, with socialism meaning something along the lines of “the people own the means of productions”, communism describing a society that follows the paradigm of “each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs” and anarchism meaning that no instance of anything should rule over others.

As you can see, these ideas were not contradicting each other but rather focussing on different aspects of the liberation of the working class

  • I don’t think you need an invite, but I guess with most projects the learning curve is rather steep.

It changed my life so that what time I formerly invested in tiny toy projects (mostly proof-of-concept stuff that would’ve taken too much time to finish into a cool prototype) I now use that time to contribute to something bigger. The satisfaction that comes from working on a big, consensus-driven project is hard to describe—I’ve never enjoyed such a thing before and wouldn’t want to miss it

  • really like this one! since this seems like an important message many of my friends could make good use of i’ll be spreading.

not so sure about the content in your singularity video, though. you certainly elaborate on some important ideas, but you lose me by your misuse of the word “internet”. the internet was already there in 1995. all the relevant (or at least the most important) protocols existed (except from the cryptography part) and the sheer idea of stopping the internet before it was too late seems to miss how revolutionary, decentralized and thus uncontrollable this idea was.

you simply can not stop people from connecting their computers and exchanging data. best you can do is erecting firewalls in between populations.

still: thanks for creating and making your content accessible!

  • first of all: absolute banger of an intro! definitively gonna watch it (and probably some more) later

second: you should know that nowadayd social media is neither “social” nor simply algorithm driven, but simply bought. if not directly by creators on platforms, than through third parties that generate many clicks fast so the algos pick it up.

exponential growth needs you to go steady with good quality for years to make up for the handicap you have compared to huge studios or rich people

    thanks for sharing!
