2·3 days agoSubstack is less explorable tho, the beauty of Reddit is you can search any keyword for a subreddit and its basically guranteed to exist or not far from easily predictable variations therof.
I never found I wanted to go too far from the current q&a or tutorial I was searching for specifically
Their search algorithm cant be worse tho, I’ll give them that. Reddi’s is absolute dogshit, its only saving grace is how you can search in the specific subreddits to shave off more keywords that would otherwise pollute or overcomplicate your results
Yeah, like support underdogs but be realistic, you cant pay for everything and everyone unless you’re unusally well-resourced so respect your own constraints where they exist.
And thats just music, are you planning on remaining internally consistent and limiting the breadth of access you could otherwise have across all the modalities like TV shows, movies, books, courses, audiobooks, etc??
Your consumption does not hurt them, the stuff you would pay for anyway just do that but i think i can live with myself for downloading Pink Flloyd’s discog or the complete cartoon series from childhood lol
They should not be able to charge or enforce api fees on contributing+ obv addicted human users. Its bullshit but it so clears the way for me not paying them for the privilege of getting banned and muted constantly
Download it via torrent, thats your best option. It takes time to build up a sizable catalog but it helps you can download entire acts discographies one fortuitous swoop here and there
Paying is basically antithetical to privacy, I only do it for the essentials or what i cant otherwise obtain freely

24·6 days agoAt some point, if nobody is cool with footing the bill, it raises an exponentially larger question of why is there a bill in the first place, who made the order underlying it, and why the subscription should continue or ever even existed before these pesky underwriting decisions were supposed to and failed to be made writ large
That needs to be explored. Is it ever ok to dispute that bill and send it back + refuse to continue until the order is made right?

How is it fair when someone shitty is allowed entry who ends up hurting civilians but civilians are expected to suck it up
How do you actually fix that without acting prophalactically, even its seen to be unfair or prematuew?

511·6 days agoAs far as I’m aware theres already an enormous issue on that side of things
Not a fan of capriciousness but if criminal issues cant even be dealt with, maybe thats a necessary step in the evolution of a workable larger system.
However, all these things should equally or allocate sufficient joint liabillity to the employers. If you feel the need to infringe on guest’s rights, that discussion is arguably inseperable from and should be understood to be complete or even appropriate without bringingthe sponsor to the table.
They are often the root of any local or global problems in this domain and its a true tradgedy that they shirk accountabillity to their underlings/hires when they are oxygen to the flame
