I have never seen tenet.
This does not make me want to see tenet. 😅
It sounds like the sort of premise that the writers thought sounded clever but is actually full of plot holes when you think about it for even a minute.
Please feel free to shoot me a message on Matrix. I’m lonely so I will probably respond to anyone lol

Ooh, interesting. I’ll definitely keep that idea in my back pocket!
Well in the session i’m prepping this week, there’s a giant carnivorous bramble plant that’s pretty hard to spot until you’re already knee-deep in it. It’s completely inert until you scratch yourself on its thorns. Once it’s tasted your blood, though, it will grab you and drag you off to its heart, where it slowly drains you dry.
It makes traveling though the forest a very deadly proposition for anyone who doesn’t know how to spot them.
True! The main thing is that surprises are only fun if they don’t screw you over too bad. But once you’re warned? Then you can play hardball 😈
All sorts! What system and setting are you running?

Yep! Also, if you aren’t familiar with the way words are either stressed or elided in spoken english, you’re probably so confused when you hear native speakers talk 😅
We literally don’t pronounce most of the sounds in most of the words we say. If you go around pronouncing every syllable of every word you’ll sound insane
This is why I don’t throw mimics at my players.
I do homebrew stuff, so all the surprise-bad-time monsters are surprises for everyone

But if we do that, we’ll need a new alphabet song!
(also, since letters [sorta] contain their respective sounds, I suggest “wub”)

Eh everyone says “dubya” anyways

Inkeeper: My daughters?! How dare you! Get out of my inn!!!
adventurers leave
Inkeeper: Good work, girls. Did you get his coinpurse?
You know how some restaraunts have a reputation for serving “good food” (I.e. gourmet food), but just because it’s fancier food it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll actually like it more?
So, what are some foods that people only like because they’re fancy? (I’d argue caviar is one)
Same idea, but for movies. What are some movies that people only like because they’re seen as being “good movies”?
I think I know what OOP means here. Films that people only like because they’re “good movies.”
I think the Avatar films fall into this category, as do most of the “Oscar bait” movies.
Interstellar was alright. Didn’t care for the ending. I perfer my science fantasy to be more like star wars - i.e. the fact that it’s space magic is pretty obvious - and don’t like being sold a soft sci fi that pretends its a hard sci fi. (For example, I thought Everything Everywhere All of the Time was pretty good, because it was somewhat internally consistent but didn’t lean too hard into the ‘this is real science guys’ thing.)
But then again, i’m one of those people who can’t turn my brain off, thinks a difficult puzzle is ‘relaxing,’ and also knows a little physics. So I admit my tastes aren’t the same as the general audience’s.
