That article doesn’t contradict what I was taught, just that the reason for the melted appearance of old glass isn’t due to this state, as that would take longer than the universe has existed to reach that effect, but due to old glass making techniques. We weren’t taught wrong, just given the wrong timeframe for it to happen. Doesn’t change the fact that glass isn’t a solid. Don’t know why my original comment is currently negative.
