Is there a “definitive” version of Max Payne or are they all roughly the same?

I had a friend do that, except it was Shia LaBeouf wearing a Where’s Wally hat. One of them got hidden in a cake tin, which ended up with my mum, who was even more confused

Metal Slug 3 is let down by that mask boss which takes forever to defeat. And the last mission, while incredible, goes on FOREVER

I get the sense the artist is throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. (Which I think is pretty bold, but I do also remember a bit of advice years ago which boiled down to “you don’t need to share everything you make”)
