I’ve heard a song here and there but I haven’t given them a serious listen. I know it’s the same singer and guitarist.

At the Drive-In - Literally the hot shit of late 00s and early 10s done in the mid 90s. They were so ahead of their time it’s a shame they kinda get lost being inspiration for what came later. They totally deserved to be the focal point.

Converge - I was always aware of them. They were kind of just another band at the time they were at their best. Then I really got into them this past year. I totally wish I could have fully appreciated them when we were younger. Going to one of their early shows would have been a highlight of my life.

Nine Inch Nails - I just never gave them a proper chance until the past few years. They totally deserve their reputation. Their stuff is awesome.

That’s the trick though. You will listen to all of Gizzard’s albums. Their highs are so high they get the benefit of the doubt for everything else.

To be fair, late for KGLW can be 12 albums in or 20 albums in. The scale for them is way different. Like they formed after I left highschool and none of them have died. Eric left. Yet their discography is big enough for 5 bands combined.

I went up to the darkest part of my state to do some stargazing. Stayed until roughly 300ish in the morning. My dumb ass decided to drive down the mountain to the nearest town in the darkest fucking pitch black night I ever lived through. I legit could not see more than 2 feet in front of my car. Every little twinkle of light that wasn’t my car’s high beams was a deer or a bear. I thought every dip in the road was a void to hell considering how dark it was. I spent the whole ride hunched up to the steering wheel with eyes wide open looking at nothingness in front of me. Took me two hours to go 50 miles to get off this mountain to the nearest city. By the time I got there the sun was coming up and I had no clue until the mountains actually broke into the valley. I checked into a hotel and had the best 5 hours of sleep ever. I’ve been back there a couple times and I stay the whole night now.

Yes because there’s 5 different people not counting a baby that all have different interests in my house. The only time we really come together to watch TV is for sports.

I’m also an early 90s baby. It used to be you’d say something back when you caught someone staring at you. Like hey take a picture it’ll last longer. Then the one staring would snap out of the moment, crack a joke back, and be done with it. Now it’s that moment going on too long and the person engaging the stare doesn’t even acknowledge it afterwards. My brother’s girlfriend does it all the time. The other day I’m getting ready to leave and opened my door to go to the bathroom and the girl stopped what she was doing to glare at me. No hello, no good morning, no thought behind those eyes. Just nothing. I put my hands up like I got arrested and she snapped back to what she was doing without acknowledging my existence.

It’s almost as if nobody told them staring is rude. It’s weird. It sucks.

Ncmpcpp. I’ve been using it for so long that using other cli music players is almost a no go. Learning a new muscle memory wouldn’t be worth it. Album art would be nice but I’m listening to music and staring at the album art for hours. The metadata editor is really nice. It’s old reliable.
