Netmaker looks really nice. Has the lowest requirement, self-hosted and open-source. I will give it a shot but if the setup is too complicated I will just go with separate profile and wireguard.

Alternatively, I guess you could also do “split-route” by defining different peers in your Android WireGuard app, and use different AllowedIPs for them.
That’s exactly what I’ve been trying but it doesn’t work. Only one peer is able to do a handshake. It looks like it should work but I actually haven’t seen anyone recommending this or saying they manged to set it up. Everyone just ends up routing everything through private VPN. I will read some more about tailscale but I think it’s an overkill for me. I will probably just use different VPNs in separate android profiles.

News@lemmy.world•Thousands of consumer routers hacked by Russia’s military
1·21 hours agoIs anyone really still updating certs manually? I think the standard is to have some reverse proxy handle HTTPS and renew the certs automatically.
Looks like most people are doing some version of option 3, routing everything through home network. I hoped there’s a simpler way but maybe I just have to go in this direction.
One question, the VPN client on your router routes everything from your network or just the phone?
So you’re using tailscale android app as the only VPN and all traffic from your phone goes through your local network, yes?
Your tailscale exit node is deployed on some server in your network, right? (I’ve set up my WG server on my router) Does your router just port forward all tailscale traffic to it?
The Android limitation is exactly what I found - only one VPN at a time. I checked the work profile trick and it does work, I can have two VPNs running. This is not ideal as apps from one profile still won’t use the commercial VPN but maybe I can live with that. I will do some more testing. Thanks for the tip.

News@lemmy.world•Texas students could soon be forced to read from the Bible in public schools
11·23 hours agoJesus… (or should I said ‘Allah’ not to sound like a supremacist?) Accepting reality has nothing to do with supremacy or indoctrination. I’m as against the church as anyone but the fact is that Christianity had huge influence on our culture over many centuries. If you just purge it all out of the education you will be lying about history and creating ignorant people who will not be able to understand most of our history, art and literature. And yes, understanding history of the countries we live in is more important that understanding the history of other countries. Obviously I don’t really expect you to understand any of it. You sound like an angry teenager who’s rebelling against the whole world without understanding half of it.

2·24 hours agoDepends on the education system, I guess. In Poland Greek mythology and the Bible are studied in primary school. That’s because many other works studied in primary school reference them. Prometheus, Icarus or David are considered basic references everyone should know. If you think it’s OK for people with high school education not to know basic mythology then yes, you can only teach in college.
You know that for example this is a Bible reference:

21·2 days agoAre koran and tora references as common in western literature? Greek mythology references are very common and we sure learned about it in language courses. But koran? I can’t think of any important work that you would not be able to understand without learning about koran. It sure would be nice to expand the language courses and add books from other cultures but this would be a major re-work, not simply adding koran and tora. Early education also tends to focus on things kids are at least somehow familiar with so I’m not sure if adding books from Asia or Middle east would be a good idea.

44·2 days agoBible is referenced by countless other books. Of course it should be studied as part of any literature course. As long as it’s treated like any other work and not as holy scripture there’s nothing wrong with reading bible in school.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you keep seeing a doctor that required to you agree to the use of AI in your treatment to continue being a patient?
21·5 days agoIt’s just a tool, it doesn’t really matter. A good doctor will not blindly trust AI only because his employer allowed him to use it. If you notice the services get worse after that then change the provider. Most likely you will not be able to find any puritan healthcare provider that bans the use of all AI. There is a way to use those tools responsibly and you just have to look for doctors that know how to do it. Looking only for doctors that don’t use any AI will just limit your choices and make the possibility of getting shitty care greater.
Yes, and using many closed source apps really feels like crawling through that pipe.

Thanks, for now that what I will try to do but using Netmaker. I think it’s an overkill for what I need but it will be good practice.
