I don’t do anything on my phone that I need to hide. I barely use it, and it’s used for mundane things. I don’t have any apps installed, I don’t do banking on it, or shop on it, or use it to pay for anything. I don’t use it for email. My phone doesn’t know very much about me, and that’s how I like it. I also don’t have face unlock set up, I enter my pin every time I use it.

Yes, I know it can track my location, and I know they consolidate everything known about me across all of my accounts, and where I shop and what I buy, etc, but putting the phone in lockdown won’t change that. So, yeah, they know a lot about me, I can’t help that, no one really can, unless they’re born off the grid and live in a cabin somewhere–which sounds pretty good, until you need help.

I wonder what ChatGPT has to say about the Christian Bible. Because, that’s all they’re going to do, just ask ChatGPT to write the report.

What’s that you say? They’re going to need to read it out loud? Good luck with that, most of the kids in grade school today read at, or below a 3rd grade level, refuse to read anything more than one paragraph, and don’t understand what they’ve read when they’re done. So, it doesn’t really matter if you make them read from the Bible, they won’t understand it, or remember it.

We do the same things over and over–wake up, drive to work, work, drive home, eat, sleep. Our brains don’t put any of that into long term storage. Have you ever turned the corner onto your street on your way home from work, and realized you can’t remember anything about the drive? Only, newish, novel events get stored robustly. So, in retrospect it seems like the past year flew by, time is compressed in the long stretches of sameness, and only the differences stand out.

I never leave tabs open. Rarely, when I’m researching something, I might have ten or fifteen open, but when I’m done I close them all. I can’t stand them all sitting up there, mocking me.
