I don’t even remember the last game I bought that required an internet server. If I can’t host a local game or private server for multi-player, I’m not interested. Of course, I only buy maybe one game a year, and it’s never anything current these days.

One of my former coworkers was like this. I was warming up my lunch in the break room microwave, and he comes in with basically a whole styrofoam take out container of spaghetti and meat sauce.

He just starts dumping it all down the garbage disposal. I’m just standing there, stunned. Another coworker comes in, sees him, and asks him something in German. I can only assume it was something like “Hey, what are you doing?” First coworker replies in German, in a cheerful manner that told me he felt it was perfectly normal. Second coworker turns to me, eyes wide, shrugs, and walks away. First coworker finishes shoving two people’s worth of noodles down the sink, and throws the Styrofoam in the trash as he walks away.

I love food, and cooking. But I will always take a big ol’ scoop of #2.

I love 3. It changed video games for me forever. While New Vegas is still my all-time favorite game of any series, 3 is right up there next to it. And I have no way of measuring the hours I poured into it.

Yeah, no problem. I have 3 of these Samsung BD-J5700 players. Found 2 of them at thrift stores, cheap. At one time, I had a hard drive I just left plugged into it with a bunch of shows and downloaded YouTube videos. It worked great. Now, I just have a PC plugged in and my players are just collecting dust. But if you can find one of these, they work great for playing off USB.

Yes, they new ones are fantastic. The pre-EZ Clean era are a bit of a pain. I basically just put some soapy water in there, close them, and shake the shit out of them. Hope for the besr.

Hey, I just saw this! Interesting video. I wonder if there is any fix for the screen flicker. Maybe some kind of additional pulse generator that just uses the original signal as the trigger or something. Definitely seems like the new screen is much better with ghosting, but the old screens probably used it to their advantage when doing grayscale.

This is true. And one great Data episode I think about a lot is The Most Toys, where he’s kidnapped to be part of some guy’s collection. And he fires a Veron T disruptor at him, only to be transported away at very moment and the disruptor is neutralized. He then lies about firing it.

No. I’m not sure if my parents would have had any objections to it, but they never suggested it. And it never occurred to me. That’s something I really regret. I think it would have helped me a lot. I think I will encourage my daughter to when she gets to be of age. My wife has worked since she was 16, and she is so much better at money management than me. She handles our budgeting.
