It’s not even a surprise, this is from SpaceX s-1 document: only 7% of their estimated valuation is from Space related activities

I’m not old enough to have know life without cars, I trust the scientists that studied the impact of car centric infrastructure on people life.

Actually this is a great analogy.
The fact that everyone is using cars now make everyone more miserable. It’s impacting health, mental health, maintaining car infrastructure bankrupt cities …
Children cannot play in the streets anymore which is impacting their development, they have less social interaction with other kids …

They’re monolingual and anything written in English isn’t valid since it’s not the official language of any European country.
Checkmate!

L’Union européenne a pour mission de soutenir et de compléter les actions menées par les États membres pour préserver et promouvoir le patrimoine culturel de l’Europe.
Better ?
Nope, Starlink and space related activities is only a tiny percentage of their valuation (around 7%). Most of their valuation comes from their future AI activities.
If it was only about their space activities, then I could imagine investing in SpaceX.
But according the the documents they released before the IPO, space related activities represent only 7% of their valuation, 93% of their valuation of AI.
It does not make sense but apparently this is worth trillion.

Talking about battery replacement for EV is like talking about engine replacement for ICE.
“Sure, ICE car are nice but the high cost of engine replacement after a few 100k km is a concern”
Batteries in today’s EV can last way longer than people expect, changing the battery is really not something that will be fine regularly, not more than changing the engine in current ice car.
My dog complains when we have a new bag of dog biscuit but still give her stale biscuit from the open bag.

Recording camera in public sources are subject to the EU law. You can’t install then without authorization and their use is reglemented.
I don’t know if it’s there case in all the EU but for example in France people need to be informed by a sign of a camera is recording the area, they can’t record the entrance of private houses …

We have that already: NASA’s Space Launch System.
It’s … debatable whether it gives better results than commercial contracts.

There is a french graphic novel from 1974 where the story is exactly that: people spend so much of their live in the car that the government device to just transform the whole country into a giant highway with oriole living in self driving car constantly moving.
There is a reddit post with the whole album there : https://www.reddit.com/r/Giscardpunk/comments/11e2kme/les_mangebitume_jacques_lob_et_josé_bielsa_1974/

It’s honestly quite negligible.
An ebike consumes around 0.5kWh/100km.
In this case I doubt they are trying to sell the piano. They are trying to make it look as expensive as possible so everything else in the store seems really cheap in comparison.
Rural area can be walkable as well.
I’m living in a village (~1500 people), we have one car for 3 adults and the car is used maybe once a week on average.
Everything else is done walking or biking. Walking the kids to school taking a path along a steam of water, there is several bar and restaurants in the village center, a bakery, a small grocery shop, a local producers shop, a market, barber … I’m working remotely and I have a coworking space in the village as well.
The streets are always busy and everyone say hi to each other.
We just need to have less car centric spaces.
It happened to me, I got contacted for an offer (I was working in a niche industry area).
They had above 50 candidates with the required qualifications. After two online interview they invited me for a onsite interview. It’s in another country so they are paying for the flights tickets and hotel.
I’m onsite for the day, I have interviews, visit of the place, the museum, I’m invited for lunch there, more interviews in the afternoon.
In the 3 candidates that were there, one was a guy who already candidated for the exact same opening 5 years ago, did not got selected for this job at the time but they did not want him to go so they hired him on another position until the main position opens again.
So without any surprises, he got selected.

Yes, you need to create an account to edit the map.

Like, a lot of information could simply be pulled from government databases. Yet OSM doesn’t seem to do that, often leaving out information that should be publicly available.
It is already the case, data is imported from public database with compatible licenses.
It does requires a lot of manual verifications and from my experience the data available is not always better than the data already available in OSM.
Then there’s the very weird thing that they don’t have any satellite view
There is satellite view for editing, depending on the area you usually have at least 3 different satellite imagery supplier that you can use for editing
what exactly is the aim of the project?
The main of the project isn’t to provide a final product usable by everyone, it’s to provide the data that can be use by any other app.
Maps have power, they’ve been used through the centuries by those in power as tools of propaganda and control. Today it is important not to let the big tech company have the monopoly on these tools.
Things might have changed since the last time you get to contribute to osm, you should try again. Open openstreetmap.org , click on “edit” and you will have immediately a tool that you can use for editing with satellite imagery. Or go to Tasks.hotosm.org to contribute to humanitarian projects using OSM
I’ve seen something about the voodoo dolls saying that they were not use for curses but rather the opposite.
They were basically a physical medical file used by folk doctor.
Folk doctors would make dolls for their regular patients and add needles to symbolize their illness and keep track of it.
