Explanation: The Roman politician Julius Caesar, of dictator and conqueror fame, was supposedly warned by a priest in his employ of the plot to assassinate him, down to the day.

    Twice.

That’s the time traveler, she went for the long con, it takes a lot of effort to make Caesar trust you.

Yep, she had a nightmare about it. Roman women were often very involved in the social circles of the politically powerful, and Calpurnia was noted as an intelligent woman. Romans, furthermore, took dreams very seriously both as omens and as expressions of health. She may have actually had the dream, picking up on bits-and-pieces of a conspiracy that was notoriously poorly hidden; or she may have realized what was going on consciously and simply feigned the dream to try to save Caesar, whom she was very loyal to.

She actually succeeded initially, as Caesar agreed not to go to the Senate meeting to spare her nerves; but one of the conspirators came to Caesar’s house when he didn’t appear and appealed to his toxic masculinity. “Are you really going to let a WOMAN determine your actions?”
