        I really don’t understand how some of y’all have this conclusion. It don’t matter if it was already allowed. It doesn’t matter how the deal was already written. That’s irrelevant. This is how fascism works. They won a victory, now they get to claim a big victory, now they’re going to do whatever the fuck they want because paper treaties don’t matter to them.

        This ain’t new shit people. Did none of y’all pay attention in school?

          Call it what you want.

          The main (new) point of the deal is that Greenland has to remain a part of NATO if it at some point become a seperate country.

          The rest of the chamber to the existing deal were mostly formalities and definitions of things that already could have been passed with the existing deal. Both the points about establishing more bases and using drones.

          I don’t know, why you are so angry at Denmark but to be honest I don’t really care. But this deal is good diplomatic work with a president who is highly unpredictable and illogical

            I mean, getting two extra military bases of a nation that has demonstrated itself to be highly violent, invading neighbors and threatening to invade allies, seems like a bad deal. Almost as bad a deal as buying military equipment from them that they have a kill-switch for.

            When a nation is rapidly sliding towards fascism, maintaining business as usual is short-sighted. Europe should be preparing for the possibility of US aggression, possibly coordinated with Russia.

            Appeasing Trump and giving him something he can spin as a “win” (even if it isn’t one in reality as you said) increases his power and makes him an even bigger problem for everyone in the long run.

              Only for those who don’t realize that no real victory happened. For anyone who realizes that - and any competent statesperson will - then it only serves to make Trump look like even more of a fool, and confirms the way to treat that fool as a fool.
