    Yeah, don’t do that. :) I was more referring to car traffic. I generally ride on the road, although my current commute is about 2/3 bike path with a separate path for pedestrians and is nice and wide with loveley views over the river. I feel pretty blessed.

    Shared paths are a nightmare at the best of times.

      Where I bike, even when there’s a separate path for pedestrians, they often just step out into the bike lane to walk around other people, often without looking.

      I actually mostly prefer shared paths because an area with shared paths generally means traffic is a lot lighter, so it’s easier to just go around a pedestrian, rather than deal with groups of pedestrians who may at any moment walk out in front of you.
