The funny thing about all of this is that Japan is constitutionally not allowed to use its military for anything other than defence of its own territory. And because as far as Japanese law is concerned, these islands have always been part of Japan, this is one of the few situations where, hypothetically speaking, Japan’s government could attack another country without a constitutional amendment. In other words, Russia needs to hope that Japan never gets a Trump of its own, because starting shit over these islands would suddenly be top of the agenda. Our assumption that Japan would never start shit is only currently true. But world politics in the 2020s are only getting weirder, so who knows what the future holds? I certainly don’t think Russia would handle Japan as easily as Medvedev seems to think.
You can’t handle Ukraine, Japan’s mechs will end you, Ruzzia.
Lol then Japan will end up being the strongest military in Russia if Russia tries to pull shit. You think Russia’s sabre has gone dull with how much they love to rattle it?
