I got a couple Suzuki Samurai’s but I want a Monte Carlo, my second car. I love them. Mine had a 283, built with a friend that died years later and that killed me as a person. But building out a Monte in New England in February is not a light task.
I miss you Joe, I am so glad I could say goodbye.

Growing up my buddy had a Wolfsburg Rabbit w/ the limited rally wheels and it was a diesel. Man that little fucker was a speed demon! They made great cars back then!
They did.if I could find an 80-ish Dasher Diesel I’d buy it on a heartbeat.
I never heard of a Dasher, but I love wagons. They are pretty badass imo

$11,000 in 1980. That’s crazy. That’s $44,000 in today’s dollars, for a 52-HP car with almost no amenities. That was more than a nice Impala with AC and an automatic cost.
I had no idea it was called a Rabbit in the US/Canada! Makes a lot more sense really, compared to “Golf” :)
We had the Golf in the US but it was bigger and came later on. I am no VW expert by any stretch, just what I remember :)
