I don’t hate the style, I’m fairly well versed in it actually.

But yeah, they’re pretty fragile. There isn’t a typical house in the US you couldn’t cut clean through with a sawzall. No problem. Whatever.

My point was there’s no fucking wisdom in it, there’s no thinking about the future, there’s zero planning ahead. Wisdom of the market my fucking rosy red asshole.

There is absolutely not some grand master overlord scheming about the next upgrade and how to implement it.

It’s some fucking dipshit trying to afford more oxys by using the cheapest shit he can.

And they’re sure as fuck not using inch thick osb. Christ they don’t even use that in commercial unless it’s both mandatory and expected to be inspected. 3/4 might be code, 5/8 is what gets used, except everywhere 1/2 will do. Furthermore, OSB, at any thickness, is fucking trash that disintegrates at the first whiff of moisture. You ever see a house in florida with OSB?

But no, the fucking plan, the great wisdom of the market, is to build a sodden pile of shit, that is worth less than any work you might put into it in ten years, pay to have it demolished, and then pay to have it rebuilt.

Meanwhile, the owners of the house built in 1927 are cutting it off the foundation, excavating it, and adding an extra floor. For less money. Some of the lathe and plaster might crack.
