      Hungary isn’t out of authoritarianism any more than america was from 2020-2024 and Magyar is even more racist than Biden and thats a high bar.

        Yes and no. It was actually designed to keep trump like people out but that got thrown out the window cause it’s just there to help republicans land win.

        Of course considering we’re at the point in the usa where there’s no chance of any amendments being passed also impossible to remove

          I’ve seen pretty compelling arguments in the past that a big incentive for the electoral college is race and class (shocker, I know).

          A quick Google search has a lot of discussion on the matter.

          But either way, no one at the time of writing could predict the level of connectedness of modern life, nor how entire industries are dominated by people trying to sway public opinion.

      There’s definitely a point where you can’t. The analysis I’ve read was that if Orban won this election, it would have been the last election.

      Now, there’s still hope for the USA, and of course we should hope for the best, but it would be irresponsible to not prepare for the worst.
