We unfortunately get the same kind of thing in the fediverse - I’m still banned from a ridiculous number of sh.itjust.works communities (more than are in the modlog, even) due to automod, even tho the intial ban was reverted as a false positive.

I downvoted a couple of posts from one conservative community that were swept into my timeline when this account was new and I was looking around. A day later I was banned from it and five other conservative communities I had never heard of. I don’t think that was automod, I think some human mods want to keep the community free of opinions they don’t like.

Yeah, that kind of chain-banning is super popular, especially for a while over on db0. It can get pretty ridiculous, for example:

        The smug ban message:

        The community in question:

db0 (the admin) is a pretty big fan of generative AI - so db0 (the instance) is quite friendly to it, and has a bunch of communities dedicated to specific types of images generated using StableDiffusion - things like StableDiffusionMycology or StableDragons or, in this case, StableWerewolves.

Yeah I was being pedantic and caught a ban for something I completely didn’t mean to insinuate. It’s just internet culture at this point.
