I got a kick out of an alternative method of relocating beavers, i.e. The Great Idaho Beaver Drops, in which our little heroes would parachute to victory.
(evidently, when transporting beavers by land historically, they’d often overheat and perish)
There’s a lot to unpack there in terms of the three species involved, the goals of the game dept, the implications of the fur trade, and the re-engineering of waterways by beaver. At this point I think I’ll just watch in fascination, and let the video exist in its own little time capsule.
