      It’s still not great. Chongqing, Urumqi (during winter), Guangzhou, all activate my allergies really badly. Kunming and Harbin had much better air. Shenzhen was fine, despite being so close to Guangzhou

      Funnily enough, the only time I’ve experienced significant air pollution on our recent trips to China were due the sheer amount of fireworks they set off for the Lunar New Year celebrations.

      It was hilarious (in an absurdist sense) to watch the air quality index drop so quickly in real time!

          IKR! It’s ridiculous how much of a fireworks display even the smaller cities put on, it literally puts our (Australia’s NYE) fireworks shows to shame.

            Yeah, it was quite the experience. Literally the whole town was in a haze, and it went on for a while too. Was pretty awesome overall. Probably best fireworks display I’ve seen ever. And it’s really cool how it’s not really organized in any way. People just get their own and then launch them all together.
