It’s like being in a relationship with an abusive spouse. You act like everything in okay on the surface, if not a little detached, and then once all of your planning is in place, you execute it before they have a chance to react.

I think the biggest thing that blows my mind about this whole AI rush is that we were finally starting to get security ingrained in people’s minds and have them understand the risks of data exfiltration and reputation damage, even holding companies responsible for data breaches and then…… throw everything out the window with security because AI

“Why?”
“Because we shouldn’t be sending money to foreign countries!”
“Okay, so does that mean we should stop sending arms to Israel?”
“…”
Fucking hypocrites

delivered a televised broadside
I know everyone is up in arms on his content (I am too), but did I miss something with a Supreme Court Justice going on TV like this in the first place?
Edit: Ah it was at a speech to the UT School of Law.

$omething tell$ me there are a few rea$on$ it could be….
But I may be wrong.

Just posted this to another response but 20MW is small, even for normal DCs. AI DCs are pushing 100MW plus. This would instead cause builders to create multiple smaller DCs, which would lose economies of scale.
I’m all for restricting AI DC buildouts but this looks like it’ll even impact normal DCs, which is a bit of a NIMBY approach.

Thanks for pointing the size out. 20MW is not very big. Average DCs can be between 25-50MW, the AI ones are freaking monsters, but this would kill even normal size/use DCs, which again begs the question: where do residents of Maine think th internet runs? Not just AI.

So what defines a “large” DC? Also, as much as I think we should be banning AI in general, where do these people think the internet runs? This strikes me as a case of NIMBY, where they want the benefits of networked computer systems, but don’t want the impacts it provides.

JD will start his own religion…. With blackjack, and couches.
Ngl, there have been some times when i Ctrl-Z, then found and killed the PID

Even worse…. You can’t walk out, which is turning free speech into compelled speech. You must listen or risk being expelled.

I assume you mean the ex-IDF chief

Oh seriously, stop with the “everyone is the same” centrism crap.
Do I think that most of the Democratic Party is “controlled opposition” by the rich? Yes, very much so given AIPAC and Billionaire donations.
However, do I think they will yield the same outcome? Hell no. Even though neither are great choices, they yield drastically different results as part of that controlled opposition is ensuring the masses are happy enough while they get what they want.
Harris would have kept the status quo. Is that the best thing for us? Nope, but it would have been a hell of a lot better than this bumbling orange idiot who is actively destroying the country.

Let me clarify: If any ships that passed through were registered to a NATO owned country (not saying that any actually are right now).
Now the territory part is interesting. So does that mean you’re free to attack a nations resources outside of their borders without giving them a means triggering Article 5?

So if a NATO owned ship crosses the blockade and gets attacked, does that mean they can trigger article 5 against the US?
Also, what right does the US have to place a random blockade like that in international waters?

75% of eligible people had voted
Fuck, if only the US could do this.
The same thing happened during the pandemic. Cities are built with large zoned swaths for residential, business and commercial all divided. When you can get around easy, that can work. But then suddenly with the WFH shift, entire sections were greatly impacted (such as restaurants in business districts).
On the other hand, Asian and European cities that have dense mixed use zoning fared much better because the restaurants could serve people regardless if they were wfh or at an office.
Convertibles and coupes are also a dying breed.

Did you not even think what would happen?
“Half Uh… DIMM”?
