The first time I saw one of his comics I really thought it was AI as well. The yellow tint was part of it, but I think another part is the background and foreground not matching. Another thing that stood out was just the amount of detail, felt way more effort than most web comics.
It really is too bad for the artists, he clearly puts a ton of work into these, and it no doubt hurts to have others undercut that.
There are definitely still ads, I’m not talking about the creator inserted ones, but there is a banner that loves popping up that says “view products”, directing users away from the video to a list of products where Google gets a cut of the sales. And lately, I’ve been getting ads for Paramount Plus videos in the middle of my feed. Oh, and then there is putting “Member Only” videos in my feed attempting to upsell me on memberships to creators.
Those are all 100% controlled by Google.
They do far better today than they did three years ago, but they still get stuff wrong constantly. I’ve had it give me the source for claims, and the source says the exact opposite of what it claimed. This isn’t a quantized to hell model running on my own hardware, but Opus from Claude.
My go to is to get people to ask it something they know a lot about, and see how bad inaccurate it is. If it gets something you know about so wrong, how wrong is it for everything else?
Looking at the reviews, it seems to be in a pretty rocky place. It may be because it is in EA, but it sounds like they are struggling with the fundamentals, and with the original release timeframe being… right about now, it doesn’t bode well.
Probably true. It is the global trend. Although they may follow the same curve as the US, despite booming renewables, coal is being replaced with Natural Gas more than solar and wind. That’s more for political reasons though. Solar and wind continue to get cheaper, and grid storage is finally starting to pan out.
As others have pointed out, it’s not that coal use is decreasing, in fact, it is increasing. It’s that other sources are growing much faster. They don’t have to “juke” the numbers, just lie with statistics.
I hope Titan Quest II can recover. I never cared for the aesthetic of Grim Dawn, but Titan Quest I loved.

FYI, Lemmy, MBin/KBin, and Piefed are all different servers. People often say Lemmy when they mean threadiverse as a whole. It’s kinda like email though, even if you use gmail, I can email you from yahoo. The interface may vary a little, but the core function is the same.
As bbbbbbbbbbb said, every state not only has their own plates, but multiple plate designs. Some states, the variations will be completely different colors and number length. Absolutely no consistency.
I use an nvidia shield, and used the developer options to disable Google’s built in launcher (and most other google related services). That’s what it takes to keep your chosen launcher. I also used an app to remap the netflix button on that stupid toblerone they call a remote to act as a mute button, so accidentally pressing it doesn’t cause me a minute of trying to get back to my content.
Better alternatives existing doesn’t give Windows a free pass to be as shitty as they want.
You always have to ask who controls the polls, and how afraid are people to tell the truth. We’ve seen it here in the states. Polling orgs have stopped, changed metrics, or done selective polling when they are controlled by the fascists. Even small things like question verbiage can change a decisive “we hate this guy” into a “opinions are mixed”.
One thing a lot of people here seem to miss: The onedrive app actually calls it “Backup”. So users assume they have a copy of it on their computer and it is “backed up” to OneDrive.
But the other thing OneDrive does is turn on “Selective Sync”, where it will actually delete the files off your local device “to free up storage”. It looks like it is on your local computer, but when an app goes to use it, OneDrive quickly downloads it so the app is none the wiser that it wasn’t actually there a moment ago. This is all seamless to the user, until one day they are offline and can’t get to most of their files, or they lose access to their Microsoft account.
Everything a user needs to know is in the interface, Microsoft gives little symbols on the file to specify if there is a local copy or not, but most users have no idea what any of that means.
To top it off, just a little icing on the cake, if a user signs into the computer with a Microsoft account, bitlocker (full disk encryption) is automatically turned on, and the recovery key is shoved in their Microsoft account. This is convenient, but if they lose access to their Microsoft account, they can’t log into the computer to get it, and they can’t log into the website to get the bitlocker key. So even if their files are still on the PC, they have zero way to recover them.
Honestly, they’ve created a very convenient system, until it is impossible to recover anything. Business Environments have administrators that can help users by resetting their passwords or pulling a bitlocker key out of Intune, but for a home user? You’re just SOL.
For anyone scrolling past and not paying a lot of attention, the above image is almost certainly fake. Look at the background and the foreground. The background is clearly a sunny mid day picture, but somehow the two are sidelit l, like from a big open window. The original may be faked too, but let’s not fight slop with more slop. That just lets the propaganda win as “who knows what’s true?”
They’re part of the problem. I’m sure they will sell plenty of copies, but they will make their money elsewhere.
GTA:O was why GTAV never got any expansion pack, and GTAVI took so long. GTA:O was all about the whales. It was miserable to play, because they focused on creating a grind which you could pay yourself out of, and it worked. They made ungodly amounts of money. That same thing will happen to GTAVI. Hopefully we get a good story out of the base game, but it is already being reported that things like “getting a haircut” are being locked behind the $100 SKU, and it’s only going to get worse from there.
They will suck every dime they can out of whales while ignoring everybody else.
Running a gas station costs more than the raw cost of wholesale gasoline. You have to pay for delivery, employees, rent, maintenance, and taxes, at the very least.
Game spending is at an all time high, it’s just all mobile game whales and Roblox.

Imagine a niche industrial software manufacturer. There might be 3 total players in the space, and a handful of Reddit posts total. AIO looks to make sure that when their website is crawled by the AI companies, the model is trained with a slant toward their product, not only in generic “Is there software to do this” queries, but also a “Product A vs Product B” query.
So Product A will put up page after page on their website about how great their product is, how much better it is than B and C. How B and C are a bad choice. And so on. Not designed to be top results in Google, but be consumed and direct LLMs subtly to their product over their competitors.
SEO was optimized for keywords and human readability. AIO doesn’t need to care about either of those, the crawlers will find it, and the LLMs will consume it. I am not a marketing expert, so I don’t know the exact specifics, and it is such a new field, I’m sure things are still evolving.
If you search “AIO marketing”, you can find plenty of references to it. I have no idea what a good reference is though, so I don’t want to link one.
AI is finding bugs, which are getting fixed. That’s great, it means a more secure and stable system. As these vulnerabilities are patched out, they are gone forever(regressions not withstanding).
Theoretically, Linux could become perfectly secure. It’s not going to stop people from doing insecure things, but it could mean there are no unintended security weaknesses. We could hit a point were an “LTS” copy of Linux never receives a single security patch, because as long as the code isn’t changing, there’s nothing to fix.
Of course, this is all theoretical, and assumes that new classes of attacks or bigger chains for attacks are never found, but vulnerabilities should be a finite resource in a static codebase, and once that resource is fully exhausted, the code is now fully safe.
Ideally, open weights or open source models catch up, and this can all be done without paying a ransom to OpenAI or Anthropic, and is available through the whole stack, not just kernel level.
