  • This is definitely more opinionated on my end, but:

    • Oban Star Racers
    • Code Lyoko ( both French shows that are pretty anime inspired )
    • Angry Beavers
    • Summer Camp Island
    • Generator Rex
    • Loonatics ( the futuristic Looney Tunes superhero show that was absolutely sabotaged IMO )
    • Camp Lazlo
    • Duck Dodgers
    • My Life As A Teenage Robot
    • Reboot ( it’s cheesy and janky enough to be charming since it’s the pioneer of 3D CGI cartoons )

    Edit:

After looking at the list, if the Sonic one with Sonic and brown fur Tails is the goofy Sonic with the very goofy Robotnik, I’d recommend getting on the other Sonic the Hedgehog in the gonna watch ( not underground because that wasn’t a high point, IMO ). I mainly recommend it if you want a darker take on Sonic’s world where Robotnik has already taken over and Sonic and a band of Freedom Fighters try to stop him.

  • Weird Stuff/Age Regression

    Tap for spoiler

I don’t recommend it now because it feels like a bunch of genAI stories are getting posted without seemingly any push back, but I used to enjoy finding some high quality stories on a site called ARArchive ( ararchive.com ).

The current modern site is a boring blue and white website. Replace the “www” with “old” and you get their old site/forums which was so much more lovely looking. Also, because of the forum type part of the site, alongside other features, was a bigger website.

The site itself, modern and old, contain stories centered around physical and/or mental age regression. Stories like “Boomerang” from OldStories, which is like a 4 chapter story about the misfortunes of a high schooler who gets physically regressed to 2 years old in a scenario where one day all 14-18 year olds in North America suddenly regress between 2-4 years old.

Or another favorite of mine: The Family by sumner. Follows a journalist who gets lost and has cat troubles but ends up in a town with a dark secret. Won’t spoil anything past the description and very beginning of the story. 5 chapters and an interesting enough premise once you read more into it.

  • Half of the time it’s just yt recommendations since I don’t get genAI slop auto thrown at me while listening to vocaloid/utau songs since they probably already categorize it as genAI despite it being in a weird gray area. It’s the closest you can get to ethical genAI¹ music, especially since you still got to put in a lot of work yourself.

From there I sometimes look through the producers channel if it’s their official channel and not some rando uploading a NicoNico/BiliBili/wherever exclusive song. If something really catches my eye, I have a good chance of clicking to try it.

¹ programs like Diffsinger and the latest vocaloid voicebanks use AI but not in a suno kind of way. Consenting people using their voices for these VBs, though harder to say if consentual for DF because anyone can make one. Latest vocaloid VBs went back to what was originally done in the first VBs in the mid-late 2000s: using machine learning

    Edit:

I also find stuff through CDs I find at thrift stores and a nearby CD shop. Again, whatever catches my eye.

  • My specialty! Cartoons! No guarantees my opinions may not be basic or good!

    • Code Lyoko ( can get a little dark at times and also characters with not just foreheads, but fiveheads ) ( also has maybe 2 or so scenes of an underage girl in just her undies/bra, but in a European kid friendly manner ) ( every episode is available on a dedicated official Code Lyoko ENG dub channel, and original dub on its own official channel as well )

    • If you can somehow find it, Dofus: The Treasures of Kerubim ( Kerubs’s Bazaar is apparently the, IMO, horrible English name ) ( same universe as Wakfu, but in a distant past I guess )

    • Summer Camp Island ( 6 seasons that start off more episodic and start to get more serialized before the very serialized and probably rushed close to death final season ) ( summer camp run by 3 witches, shenanigans with magic and magical creatures happen )

    • Some episodes are technically lost media, either in the original ENG dub or in general, but Skippy: Adventures in Bushtown ( a rare example of Australian cartoon work, follows an anthro kangaroo who basically does everything he can to fight against a corrupt mayor ) ( huh, sounds topical with the state of the world, kinda ) ( episodes available can be found on the The Skippy Archive yt channel, if that makes any difference )

    • Ahhhh! Real Monsters ( unless I completely missed this on the list, kinda shocked it’s not there while the classsic Klasky Csupo show Rugrats is )

    • Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog ( the campy in a pretty dumb kinda way cartoon and not SatAM, though I personally recommend that one if you want something a little more serious and darker in tone )

    • Rocket Power ( another Klasky Csupo I personally think is good enough to pass )

I wanted to list some others, but I scroll down to the list only to find them. I mean, Angry Beavers was already there. Same with like Batman Beyond and D.W. and Infinity Train. This post just makes me realize I don’t know as many cartoons as I should.

  • So long as I don’t remember the plot/ending and such and don’t get to bare witness to that end, I feel like that one 70s movie about the underground city where “old” ( I wanna say 30yrs old ) people get killed in a ceremony and get replaced by a computer AI controlled incubated baby wouldn’t be the worst. Hell, if I had no clue anything was wrong, I wouldn’t have anything to complain about. Besides maybe the fact I only get maybe 30 years before being killed.

    Edit:

Logan’s Run! That’s the name of it! Had to look it up because I am dumb.

  • My family had the second movie on VHS, so yes. I don’t have either on DVD, which I should, but my brother currently has a VHS copy. I don’t care if people say the second wasn’t as good as the first because I love them both for different reasons, but I do love them.

I’m also, to a lesser extent, a fan of the Land Before Time series, which you’d never get me to admit IRL, and Secret of NIHM. Classic Don Bluth Entertainment films are some of my favorite classic animated films in general.

I have Secret of NIHM on DVD and maybe a year or so ago on a whim picked up a box set of all LBT films mainly for the early films since at some point the later films drop the whole prehistoric talk thing they did in the early films. Using “sun” instead of “sky fire” and such, which takes away a little bit of the charm.

  • Most things animated. If I’m watching any type of television or movies, there’s a very high chance it’s animated with a higher likelihood of being a cartoon. I don’t watch as much yt storytime animators, but at one point I did watch at least Dan Plan ( I think that was their name ).

But I also have a special interest that really leans into that: anthropomorphic animals. A ton of the cartoons I watched growing up contained anthro animals and now I am known to occasionally search specifically for anthro animal/furry content for new games to look at or shows/movies to check out. Biggest reason I got into BEASTARS.
